Anthropic’s AI Assistant Claude Expands Reach to Europe

Anthropic, the AI safety research company, has made its AI assistant, Claude, available across Europe, offering multilingual support and enhanced accessibility. Users can now access Claude.ai, the web-based version, along with the Claude iOS app and the Claude Team plan for businesses. With a strong commitment to AI safety and privacy, Claude aims to cater to diverse linguistic and cultural needs while upholding EU values.

The launch in Europe follows Anthropic’s recent introduction of its fastest and most powerful large language model, Claude 3, featuring models like Claude 3 Haiku, Claude 3 Sonnet, and Claude 3 Opus. Positioned as a competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Claude offers distinct advantages, including a human-like tone, expanded context window, and accessible user interface.

Anthropic emphasizes Claude’s trustworthiness and its efforts to combat misinformation and bias. With dedicated teams tracking and mitigating risks, Claude employs Constitutional AI principles and automated systems to detect and prevent misuse. Furthermore, Anthropic prioritizes user privacy, retaining data for only 90 days and requiring permission for prompt training.

In terms of pricing, Claude.ai and the Claude iOS app are free, while the Claude Pro subscription, offering access to advanced models like Claude 3 Opus, is priced at €18. The Claude Team plan, designed for businesses, is available at €28 per user per month, with a minimum of five seats.

Anthropic’s expansion into Europe marks a significant milestone in its mission to make AI accessible to all. With Claude’s introduction, users across Europe can benefit from advanced AI capabilities while ensuring privacy and reliability. As Anthropic continues to evolve, further updates and enhancements are expected in the near future.
