Microsoft Partners with Aptos Labs to Fuse AI and Blockchain for a Web3 Revolution

Tech juggernaut Microsoft and Aptos Labs, the visionary layer 1 blockchain, are uniting their prowess to usher in a new era of technological convergence. This partnership aims to seamlessly amalgamate artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, propelling the web3 revolution into mainstream accessibility.

Aptos Labs, conceptualized by former Meta employees, embarked on this collaboration with Microsoft to tackle a pivotal challenge hindering web3 adoption: the complex onboarding process. Leveraging Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service, Aptos Labs plans to introduce the Aptos Assistant, a secure digital ally bridging web2 to web3. This intuitive chatbot will respond to user queries regarding the Aptos blockchain ecosystem, offering a user-friendly gateway to smart contract and decentralized app development.

Mo Shaikh, CEO of Aptos Labs, asserts, “Artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies are quickly converging for one important reason: they are both generational breakthroughs that profoundly impact the evolution of the internet and shape society.”

The collaboration doesn’t stop at AI assistance. Aptos Labs also aims to integrate its native programming language, Move, onto GitHub’s Copilot service. This integration empowers contract development, unit testing, and formatting, accelerating blockchain innovation.

The ramifications of this partnership extend to asset tokenization, digital payments, and central bank digital currencies. A harmonious marriage of Microsoft’s cutting-edge AI capabilities with Aptos Labs’ blockchain ingenuity could unlock new dimensions of financial services enterprises’ web3 adoption.

The intersection of AI and blockchain, previously confined to speculative notions, now stands poised for practical implementation. As Rashmi Misra, General Manager of AI and Emerging Technologies at Microsoft, points out, “By fusing Aptos Labs’ technology with the Microsoft Azure Open AI Service capabilities, we aim to democratize the use of blockchain enabling users to seamlessly onboard to web3 and innovators to develop new exciting decentralized applications using AI.”
