Nomura’s Crypto Arm Secures Dubai License for Digital Asset Services

Nomura’s crypto division has achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of a prominent position in the digital asset industry. The Dubai-based subsidiary, Laser Digital Middle East FZE, has been granted an operating license by Dubai’s Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA).

In an announcement made on August 1st, Laser Digital Middle East FZE revealed that the newly obtained virtual asset service provider (VASP) license would empower the firm to offer a range of services in the emirate. This includes broker-dealer and virtual asset management and investment services.

Furthermore, the permit opens the door for the firm to conduct various trading and asset management operations in the near future. Among these are over-the-counter (OTC) services and the introduction of a diverse lineup of digital asset investment products and solutions.
