In various counties across the state of Arkansas, officials are urgently pushing through emergency legislation to gain control over noise and other activities related to cryptocurrency mining before a new state law takes effect on August 1, as reported by local media.
The impending state law seeks to subject crypto mining facilities to the same regulations applied to traditional data centers. It aims to establish clear guidelines for miners and shield them from discriminatory regulations and taxes. However, residents in Arkansas were given minimal time to deliberate on this new legislation, as it was introduced, discussed in committees, and passed by legislators within just a week, spanning from March 30 to April 7.
