Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, kicked off the company’s big event by making a huge (and somewhat surprising) announcement about Android usage — according to Pichai, there are now 2 billion active Android users worldwide.
Okay Google, that’s impressive.
In addition to the impressive amount of active mobile device users, Pichai also claimed Google’s seven different services — Search, Android, Chrome, YouTube, Maps, Google Play, and Gmail — all of which have one billion monthly active users each.
According to Pichai’s latest stats, Google Drive has 800 million monthly users, and Google Photos has reached the very commendable 500 million monthly mark.
Google announced the Android operating system had reached the 1 billion active user mark during at its 2014 I/O developer conference, so the company has grown considerably over the past three years.
