Worldcoin Launches WLD Token to Empower Global Identity Verification
Today, Worldcoin, the contentious cryptocurrency project co-founded by Sam Altman, revealed the official launch of its WLD token, set to be distributed among more than two million individuals worldwide.
At the heart of this polarizing crypto venture lies a mission to facilitate online identity verification using iris-scanning orbs for in-person credentials validation. With over two million people already verified, they are now poised to receive their allocation of the WLD token.
Worldcoin has pledged to expedite sign-ups by deploying iris-scanning orbs across more than 35 cities spanning 20 countries worldwide.
The WLD token has already garnered attention from major cryptocurrency exchanges, with Binance, Huobi, Bybit, and OKX listing the digital asset.
Following its multiple listings, the value of Worldcoin’s $WLD surged remarkably by 88.4%, reaching $3.14 at 5:00 a.m. EDT, according to Coingecko. This surge in value has propelled the token’s fully diluted valuation to almost $27 billion, a figure calculated by multiplying the current price by the total supply, including tokens yet to be in circulation.
