Challenger banking app Monese has today announced the launch of its very own web platform.

‘Monese for web’ is one of the first desktop platforms from a digital banking provider and is available for all customers from today.

The only other digital banking player to have a web version is Starling, but this is only for business account customers.

Monese customers will be able to view their balance, browse transactions and download statements.

The new system also has popular features from Monese’s app, such as Privacy Mode, which instantly hides transaction amounts and balances to the viewer meaning customers can delay looking at their funds for a little while longer.

Monese’s web platform requires a two-factor authentication process on the first log in as users will have to use the app to securely log onto the web platform.

According to a blog post about the launch, the fintech said it “had lots of requests for a web version of Monese.”

Norris Koppel, CEO and founder of Monese, told AltFi: “While the majority of our customers enjoy accessing their multi-currency accounts using their mobile, we rolled out the web version of Monese in response to growing demand.”

“It complements our mobile offering – is easy to navigate and provides plenty of tools to manage your account and expenses. We’re working on adding more features, this is a sneak peek of what’s to come,” he added.

Monese had a strong start to 2020 after hitting 2m customers in late January and is on track to reach 5m by the end of the year.
