Wirecard releases payment app with neo-banking services

via Verdict 

German fintech firm Wirecard has introduced a new payment app, called boon Planet, with neo-banking services.  The app will enable the users to create a digital bank account, transfer money and conduct contactless payments. The customers will also receive a physical debit Mastercard as part of the offering.

Deals: London fintech startup GoCardless raises $13M to bring recurring payments platform to more countries

GoCardless has become somewhat of a poster child for the London fintech scene. Offering an alternative to card payments, the startup provides a simple way for businesses to set up and accept bank-to-bank payments online (also known as Direct Debit), and is now processing £1 billion worth of payments annually. Transforming how retail banking works

In the Internet Trends 2015 report by KPCB, mobile engagement is better than ever, with three hours of time spent per day on mobile devices in 2015 compared to an hour per day five years ago (a 300 percent increase). Adding to this, there was 69 percent and 23 percent annual worldwide growth inmobile data traffic and smartphone subscribers (2.1 billion) in 2014, respectively.
