Is New Hampshire the Blockchain Capital of the World?

The state of New Hampshire could easily be hailed as the Bitcoin capital in the world as of mid-2017. The state’s new accolade is credited to the great libertarian migration of the 21st century.

During the migration, thousands of libertarians have left their countries to escape their oppressive political masters.

In their search for a new home, they find peace and prosperity in the tax-free and freedom-loving state. These migrants are also among some of the major users of the Bitcoin platform to send money to their families back home.

Booming cryptocurrency market

Based on a report by Overstock, one-third of their total orders on the day they began to accept Bitcoin as payment was from New Hampshire.

The possible reason for this is that New Hampshire is the only state in the US that excludes cryptocurrency businesses from registering as money transmitters.

This policy has attracted such job-creating startup companies such as LamassuLBRY and AnyPay.

Promoting digital currency

To promote Bitcoin along with the businesses that use it, New Hampshire-based newspaper Monadnock Shopper published a front-page above-the-fold article featuring Blockchain businesses.

Joining the open-minded New Hampshire locals is entrepreneur David Jurist who launched the website, Shire Cryptocoin, to help monitor and inform the latest developments in the cryptocoin market in the state.

The website also offers information on where customers can purchase or spend their cryptocoins. Moreover, the site provides a service in which customers can trade their Bitcoins for such digital currencies as Litecoin, Dash and Ethereum. These are just a few examples of how those in New Hampshire appreciate the power of Blockchain revolution.

Thriving companies

Meanwhile, several technology companies are already relocating to New Hampshire, which goes to show that Silicon Valley may no longer hold the monopoly in tech.

The management of the cryptocurrency platform Swarm.City has decided to choose Portsmouth, New Hampshire as the firm’s base.
